Le Courrier des Balkans: Rama's horizon is narrowing, political pressure on

Anti-government protests in Albania have entered their 35th day, as thousands of citizens gathered in Tirana on Saturday evening demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to the French media outlet Le Courrier des Balkans , the latest demonstration was among the largest in recent weeks, with a large turnout of citizens from all over Albania and members of the diaspora. Protesters marched from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Minister's Office, carrying national flags and anti-government banners.

The article emphasizes that the protest took place in a tense atmosphere, following previous clashes between protesters and police near Parliament.

According to the Albanian Helsinki Committee, the use of force by the police during the July 2 protests was disproportionate, while the organization has called for respect for human rights standards.

The article also mentions that in the United States, Republican Congressman Joe Wilson has introduced an amendment that requires the drafting of a classified report on the extent of drug trafficking in Albania and any possible involvement of government officials.

According to Le Courrier des Balkans, the protests are also related to opposition to development projects in the protected areas of Sazan and Zvërnec, while the organizers have warned that the mobilization will continue until their demands are met.
