"Russia is behind the protest", the Russian embassy responds to Balla: Look for enemies where there are none

"Russia is behind the protest", the Russian embassy responds to Balla:

The Russian Embassy in Tirana has responded to the statements of Taulant Balla and Minister Blendi Gonxhe, who stated that Russia is behind the citizen protests.

In its response, the embassy emphasizes that the statements made are baseless claims, emphasizing that they seek to create enemies where there are none.

"The statements of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Albania B. Gonxha and the Deputy of the Parliament of Albania, Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party of Albania T. Balla regarding the "Kremlin's involvement" in the protests taking place in the country arouse surprise. We are also seeing similar allegations in a number of media outlets by certain journalists. These statements are completely unfounded.

Russia strictly implements one of the fundamental principles of its foreign policy: the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of foreign states. Moscow always respects the choice of the people and works with the legitimately elected government. We wish success and prosperity to the Albanian people, regardless of the current political situation and the current level of relations.

"We regret to note that this is not the first time that Albanian politicians have tried to baselessly impose the idea of the so-called "malign influence" of Russia on the domestic public. We call for a more responsible approach to such statements and restraint from looking for enemies where they do not exist," the reaction states.
