Protests/ The European Democratic Party reacts again: 33 days without dialogue

The European Democratic Party has reacted again to the tense political situation in Albania, expressing concern about the way protests against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama are being managed.

In a public statement, this political force condemns the use of violence against protesters and criticizes the lack of dialogue by the Albanian authorities.

According to the European Democratic Party, the prolongation of the protests without any institutional response and the use of force against citizens constitute a worrying signal for the functioning of democracy in the country.

"Thirty-three days without answers. Thirty-three days without dialogue. And now, too often, with rubber batons instead of listening. This is not the way a democracy behaves: power should never become unaccountable, hermetic towards citizens, their pain and questions. Albania deserves institutions that respond, not institutions that strike ," the statement said.

However, representatives of the European Democratic Party have also identified a positive element during the protests in Tirana. According to them, the presence of European Union flags alongside Albanian ones proves that citizens continue to see the country's future in the European family.
