The National Council of the Democratic Party held its constituent meeting, during which two of the main governing bodies of the Party were elected: the Chairman of the National Council and the 20 new members of the Presidency of the Democratic Party.
After a transparent electoral process, conducted in the presence of candidates and their observers, as well as broadcast live by the media without interruption, a process that ended in the early hours of the morning, the Electoral Commission of the National Council of the DP announces the final results as follows:
Ms. Juliana Emiri has been elected as the Chairman of the National Council of the DP.

The 20 members elected by the National Council to the Party Presidency, according to statutory categories, are:

With the constitution of the new Presidency, it will also approve the representatives of the Diaspora in the National Council of the DP and in the Presidency of the Democratic Party, in accordance with the statutory amendments approved by the National Assembly of the DP on May 30, 2026.
The election of other leading bodies of the Democratic Party will then continue, including the Secretary General, the Vice-Presidents of the Party, the Secretariat and the Departments, thus concluding the process of reorganization and renewal of the Party.

The newly constituted National Council clearly reflects the main message of the National Assembly of the Democratic Party of May 30th on the renewal and opening of the Democratic Party. Specifically:
1. For the first time in the history of the Democratic Party, the National Council will be led by a woman, Ms. Juliana Emiri, who joined the Democratic Party from civil society.
2. For the first time in the history of the Democratic Party, 60% of the elected members of the Presidency will be women, girls and young people under the age of 35.
3. Fourteen of the 20 elected members are for the first time part of the Party Presidency, reflecting the commitment to openness, elite circulation and the promotion of the new generation of leaders.
In conclusion, the Electoral Commission thanks the media for their uninterrupted coverage of the voting and counting process, as well as all candidates and their observers for their contribution to the development of a fair, transparent and credible process.
A special thank you also goes to the candidates who participated in this internal competition and did not emerge victorious. Their contribution, commitment and values ​​constitute an important asset for the Democratic Party and will remain an important part of its process of renewal and strengthening.
