Fatal accident on the Durrës-Tirana highway, protesters hold 1 minute of

During the protest held this Tuesday in front of the Prime Minister's Office, participants paused for a minute of silence in honor of the four people who lost their lives in the tragic accident on the Durrës-Tirana highway, where 12 others were injured.

The initiative was proposed by activist Luçiana Kokaj, who, in front of those present, linked the event to the way the State Police had deployed forces during the day.

Kokaj accused the Police of focusing on intervening against protesters near Parliament during the day.

"Today, while the State Police were very busy dragging protesters in front of the Parliament and another part of the Police was stationed in Rrjoll where they were acting as private guards for Bashkim Ulaj to steal our property, we had a very big disaster in our country. A disaster that could have been avoided if the Police were doing their job. 4 citizens lost their lives on the Tirana-Durrës highway. So as a sign of respect, I would ask you to observe 1 minute of silence. Now we continue with our demands, which are:

The resignation of Rama, the government and this political class. I would like to make a call to all opposition MPs who say they support the protest. 'Where were you today when the protesters gathered? Why didn't you raise your voice in Parliament, but ran away like you always run away?'. Today the Police became a party to the crime, dragging us along", said Kokaj, among other things.
