Two police officers from prison 313 die, initial suspicions

A serious incident has been recorded at the "Jordan Misja" Penal Execution Institution in Tirana, where two Prison Police employees lost their lives within a few hours.

The first victim is Zog Muhametaj, 62 years old, an information specialist with the rank of commissioner. According to preliminary data, at around 21:36, during the briefing for the shift change, he felt unwell and lost consciousness.

He was rushed to the hospital, where despite the doctors' efforts, he failed to survive.

A few hours later, another employee of the same institution, Pëllumb Vrana, 62, a camera system technician, felt unwell while in the prison management offices, where the footage was being verified as part of the procedures following the first incident.

Those present provided him with first aid and he was immediately transported to the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center. However, at around 01:00, doctors confirmed his death.

The exact circumstances of both deaths are expected to be clarified by investigations and forensic examinations.
