The Chairwoman of the Committee for Culture, Tourism and Diaspora, Ina Zhupa, has denounced the destruction of the Skorana Gorge in the Erzeni Canyon, calling it another "environmental crime" and accusing the government of burying one of Tirana's natural pearls.

Through a video, Zhupa states that the damage to the area from the dumping of inert materials and the uncontrolled activity of construction companies is a consequence of misgovernance and not a natural disaster.

It demands the investigation and punishment of those responsible, the strengthening of environmental protection laws, and accuses the government of promoting tourism propaganda while allowing the destruction of the country's natural resources.

Ina Zhupa's reaction:

The Erzeni Canyon was also massacred. The Rama government is burying another natural gem of Tirana.

This video shows an environmental crime that cannot be hidden by propaganda. Skorana Gorge, one of Tirana's most beautiful natural destinations, has been destroyed by the dumping of inert materials and the uncontrolled activity of construction companies. Where families, young people and tourists once enjoyed nature and the waters of Erzen, today only destruction remains.

This is not a natural disaster, but the result of a government that has abandoned environmental protection and chosen to serve the interests of its clients.

Those responsible must be investigated and brought to justice, and laws and controls to protect our natural resources must be strengthened.

Albania cannot continue to lose its pearls one by one, while the government sells propaganda about tourism, but allows the destruction of the very nature that makes this country unique.

What kind of tourism are we talking about in Tirana?! Construction tourism, concrete tourism?!
