The decision was made immediately after the 2-1 triumph over Germany, a victory that sealed Ecuador's qualification to the round of 16 of the tournament.

Through a message on social media, Noboa congratulated the players and technical staff for the achievement, emphasizing that the team managed to overcome criticism and difficulties along the way to success.

"Thank you to the players and the coach who, despite criticism, insults and difficult times, managed to give this great joy to the entire country. Tomorrow is a national holiday! ", wrote the Ecuadorian president.
