Doctors sound the alarm: 4 kitchen items you should replace as soon as possible

Some of the most commonly used items in the kitchen may hide health risks, warn cardiologists, who recommend replacing them with safer and more sustainable alternatives.

According to experts, plastics and materials containing substances known as PFAS, widely used in non-stick cookware, are among the products that should be avoided as much as possible. These materials have been linked to various health concerns, including possible impacts on the cardiovascular system.

One of the main tips is to replace plastic food storage containers with glass containers . Experts point out that plastic can release microscopic particles, especially when exposed to heat, while glass is considered safer for long-term food storage.

Doctors also suggest avoiding pans with non-stick coatings that contain PFAS. Instead, they recommend pans made of stainless steel, cast iron, or titanium , which do not release harmful substances during cooking and have a longer lifespan.

Attention is also paid to cutting boards . According to experts, plastic boards can wear out over time and release small particles into food. For this reason, wooden boards are considered a safer and more resistant alternative.

Another recommended change is related to kitchen utensils . Spoons, spatulas, and other plastic utensils can degrade from high temperatures, so experts advise using wooden, silicone, or stainless steel utensils.
