Police have provided details of the poisoning of students at the Security Academy.

According to police, there are 60 students who have presented to the hospital with symptoms of poisoning and are receiving medical assistance.

The police announce that an investigation has been launched and samples have been taken from the food consumed by the trainees.

"In the hours of yesterday evening and in the early hours of this morning, 31 students of the Professional College of Police Training at the Security Academy were sent for medical assistance to the Infectious Diseases Department of the QSUT, with symptoms such as fever and diarrhea. They received the necessary medical assistance and returned to the Security Academy in good health.

Meanwhile, this morning, 29 other students from the Professional College of Police Training presented themselves at the Security Academy health center, who were sent for medical assistance to the Infectious Diseases Department of the QSUT.

A special investigative group was immediately established, which, in cooperation with the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is carrying out investigative actions to fully document the circumstances of the case and determine the respective responsibilities.

Meanwhile, the National Food Authority (AKU) has taken samples of the food consumed, which will be subjected to laboratory analysis to determine the cause of this situation ," the police statement said.
