A Police operation in the Vau i Dejës area has led to the discovery of a suspected case of cultivation of narcotic plants in the village of Kroni i Madh.

During field inspections, officers identified and destroyed a quantity of plants and seedlings suspected of being cannabis, while two people, a brother and sister, who were suspected of being involved in their cultivation, were arrested.

The arrested are a 33-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, residents of the village of Kroni i Madh. According to preliminary investigations, they are suspected of having planted a plot of narcotic plants in the area.

Following procedural actions, the police have also referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office for the village headman and the forest ranger, who are being investigated at large for abuse of office.

It is suspected that they failed to exercise their duties to prevent or report illegal activity.
