World Cup 2026/ Croatia takes three golden points, England disappoints

Croatia secured a crucial victory at the 2026 World Cup, defeating Panama 1-0 in a match played on Tuesday night. The decisive goal was scored by Ante Budimir in the 54th minute, giving Zlatko Dalic's team a valuable three points in the group.

Although the Croatians did not fully convince in their performance at BMO Field in Toronto, they achieved their main objective: victory. With this result, Croatia still keeps alive their hopes of finishing top of Group L, a group that is proving to be very competitive.

In the other group match, England and Ghana were held to a goalless draw in a match played in difficult weather conditions in Foxborough. Despite several chances, notably from Declan Rice and Noni Madueke in the first half, neither team was able to find the back of the net.

Coach Thomas Tuchel tried to change the pace in the second half with some substitutions, while a shot from Rayan Aït-Nouri (O'Reilly) was stopped by the crossbar, denying England the winning goal.

After these results, England and Ghana remain tied on four points, while Croatia moves up to three points. Panama remains without points and practically out of the race for qualification.
