Unions across Greece are intensifying preparations for a 24-hour general strike on Wednesday, June 24, with wage increases, a strengthened healthcare system and improved public education at the center of their demands.
Leading the mobilizations are workers in key sectors of the economy, including construction, the food and beverage industry, hospitality and tourism, commerce, and regional administration employees.

The Federation of Food and Tourism Workers (POEET) announced that it has unanimously decided to hold a 24-hour pan-Hellenic strike in the food and tourism sector. In its statement, the federation announced that during the day of the strike, protest rallies will be organized by local unions throughout the country, while in Athens a central protest will be held in front of the Ministry of Labor at 11:00.
According to the organizers, the main strike rallies will take place:
In Athens, at Kaniggos Square, at 11:00.
In Thessaloniki, near the EFKA offices, at 10:30.
In other major cities, such as Agrinio, Ioannina, Heraklion, Kavala, Kardita, Kozani and Crete (Rethymno, Chania).

The unions emphasize that the mobilization aims to exert pressure on the authorities to improve working conditions, increase employees' incomes, and strengthen public services in health and education.
