After allocating 4 million euros, the government orders the police to block off half of Tirana for the "YE" concert

After the government decided to allocate over 4 million euros from the reserve fund for the organization of the concert of American rapper Kanye West, the Tirana Police has made public the plan of measures that will accompany the development of the activity, which includes numerous traffic restrictions on some of the main axes of the capital.

According to the official announcement, the measures will be implemented on July 11, within the framework of the "YE" concert, which will be held in the Kashari area.

From 07:00 to 24:00, traffic will be prohibited on the secondary axis of the Durrës-Tirana highway, from the "Eiffel" area to "Casa Italia". This segment will be accessible only with an exit direction for entities that carry out activities in the area.

During the same time interval, the exit lane of the Durrës-Tirana highway at the "Casa Italia" roundabout will also be blocked.

Meanwhile, from 12:00 to 24:00, traffic will not be allowed in the segments "Casa Italia" - "Pavarësia" street - "Sokrat Miho" street, as well as "Sokrat Miho" street - "Kasem Shima" street - "7 Nëntori" street, where movement will only be allowed in the exit direction.

The police also warn that, depending on the number of participants, there may be temporary blockages on the Ura e Institutit - Casa Italia axis, in order to manage traffic and guarantee safety during the activity.

During the hours of restrictions, only emergency vehicles and State Police vehicles will be allowed to circulate in the blocked areas.

Authorities are calling on citizens to plan their movements in advance, use alternative routes and respect the instructions of police officers on the ground.

Kanye West's concert has sparked debate in recent days, after the government announced that it will finance its organization with over 4 million euros from the reserve fund, arguing that the event is expected to bring economic benefits and thousands of foreign visitors.

In the framework of the "YE" musical activity that will take place on 11.07.2026, in Kashar, the Tirana Local Police Directorate informs citizens that there will be temporary restrictions on the circulation of vehicles, as follows:

-From 07:00 to 24:00, traffic will be prohibited on the secondary axis of the "Durrës-Tirana" highway, from "Eiffel" to "Casa Italia". We clarify that this segment will only function in the exit direction, for subjects;

-From 07:00 to 24:00, traffic will be prohibited on the exit lane of the "Durrës-Tirana" highway, at the "Casa Italia" roundabout;

-From 12:00 to 24:00, traffic will be prohibited in the segment ""Casa Italia" - "Pavarësia" Street - "Sokrat Miho" Street";

-From 12:00 to 24:00, traffic will be prohibited on the segment ""Sokrat Miho" Street - "Kasem Shima" Street - "7 Nëntori" Street", which will operate only in the outbound direction.

Also, from the Institute bridge to "Casa Italia" there may be partial traffic blockages, depending on the flow of participants, in order to manage traffic and guarantee the normal development of the activity.

During the above intervals, only Emergency vehicles and State Police vehicles will have access to the restricted areas.

Tirana Police asks for citizens' understanding and invites drivers to plan their movement, using alternative routes and following the instructions of the Police services.
