French MEP joins protests in Albania: Support for the "Pink Flamingo

French MEP Emma Fourreau has announced that she is heading to Albania to join the civic protests known as the "Pink Flamingo Revolution", expressing her support for demonstrators who oppose the tourist project linked to the Trump family and accuse the government of corruption.

Through a post on social media, Fourreau writes that for more than a month, Albanian citizens have been protesting against what he describes as a project with serious consequences for the environment, as well as against the corruption of the government led by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"I am leaving for Albania to support the Pink Flamingo Revolution! For more than a month, the Albanian people have risen up against the ecocidal project financed by the Trump family and against the corruption of Edi Rama's socialist government. Stop the plunder of land and property, support for Albanians who are at war!", writes the French MEP.

Fourreau's visit comes at a time when protests against the planned project in the Zvërnec and Sazan areas have also attracted the attention of other MEPs, who in recent days have expressed concerns about environmental protection, transparency and respect for European standards in Albania.
