Jamarbër Malltezi has published his latest book in English, entitled " The Political Process Against the Opposition Leader in Albania: 35 Falsifications of a Political Prosecution", where he discusses the judicial process against former Prime Minister and opposition leader, Sali Berisha.

According to the author, the book presents what he describes as a political process built through manipulated files and unfounded accusations, with the aim of attacking the opposition in Albania. Malltezi writes that the prosecutors in the case acted under political influence and built the accusations on “35 forgeries,” which, according to him, are documented with evidence and official facts.

The publication contains authentic official documents dating from 1935 to 2009, which, according to the author, prove the legal ownership of landowning families over lands confiscated by the communist regime.

The book argues that the process of returning and compensating these properties, initiated about two decades ago, has not resulted in any legal violations and has not violated the public interest, writes politiko.al.

Malltezi emphasizes that through the documents, facts and evidence presented, he aims to show that the criminal proceedings against Berisha were built on political and not legal grounds. He claims that the purpose of the process was to arrest the opposition leader, in implementation of what he calls a "political order" of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to the author, the book is not only a testimony on the specific case of Sali Berisha, but also a warning on the danger of using the justice system as a political instrument, arguing that political pressure on institutions can lead to the deformation of legal processes and the rule of law.

The book is available for purchase on the international platform Amazon .
