The u-Albania portal opens, high school graduates begin data verification

High school graduates have finished their exams and many of them are now waiting to apply to university.

The U-Albania portal is open and they can verify their personal data. The Director of the Albanian Academic Network advises them to use the time and get informed about the branches of their choice.

" I will advise high school graduates to log into the portal and compare the data on the documents with those on the portal and, if they have inaccuracies, they should contact either the high school or the QSHA to make the appropriate corrections before starting the process, because afterwards it is impossible."

"They should also use this time to obtain the necessary information, to see the admission criteria, to see how this program performed in the first round last year, to generate ideas, to calculate the points," said the director of the Albanian Academic Network.

Then, starting from July 27 and for six consecutive days, they can fill out the A2 form. Student candidates can list their ten preferred majors, while the admission criteria for each faculty have been updated on the portal.

"If graduates are only looking for 2-3 branches, I would advise them to fill out the full form, because it may happen that in those branches the competition for graduates is high and the quotas have a certain number, and if they do not win them, these branches can apply for another. When they close with 2-3, this right is taken away from them and remains for the second round.

The entry average is 6.5 for bachelor's programs, for professional programs it is enough to have completed the state matriculation exam, for teaching 7.5 only for those who want to become teachers in the second cycle.

"But the portal also has averages in the system and, if it doesn't have this average, that branch won't appear," added Arjan Xhelaj.

Around 29,000 young people are expected to apply to start higher education next academic year. Around three thousand of them are high school graduates from previous years, who are reapplying because they have not started university before.
