SPAK sends former mayor of Divjaka, Fredi Kokoneshi, for trial

The Special Prosecution Office has requested the trial of the former mayor of Divjaka, Fredi Kokoneshi, who is accused of abuse of office while he was in charge of the municipality.

The criminal file has been filed with the Special Court, while Dorjan Spaho, Andi Bullari and Ledio Xharo have also been charged for the same criminal offense.

According to SPAK's investigations, the case began after a referral from the Fier Police in 2022 and is related to the procedures followed by the Divjaka Municipality for the lease of several agricultural land areas.

From the verifications carried out, the prosecution suspects that during Kokonesh's leadership, the municipality entered into two lease contracts for an area of ​​approximately 67 hectares of land, which would be used for the construction of photovoltaic plants.

The contracts, signed in 2021 with two private entities, provided for a 10-year term of use. However, SPAK has found that the leased areas were registered with the Albanian Land Registry as state property destined for agricultural land.
