"Give me the phone", the conflict before the murder of the 55-year-old

New details have emerged about the murder of 55-year-old Bardhe Ziçi in Shkodra, where it is suspected that she was shot to death by her husband, Shtjefën Ziçi.

According to the investigation, the main lead authorities are focusing on is a conflict related to jealousy between the couple. Security cameras recorded an argument between the spouses shortly before the incident.

Investigative sources indicate that the 62-year-old man asked his wife for her cell phone, which led to a verbal altercation between them. After the argument, he is suspected of entering the apartment, taking the shotgun he was carrying with a permit, and shooting his wife, causing her death.

Shtjefën Ziçi has not yet given an official statement to investigators, due to his severe psychological condition after the incident.

Meanwhile, his defense claims another version of the incident, insisting that it was an accident. According to the lawyers, the 62-year-old had taken the gun to clean it and did not know that it was loaded, while the cartridges, according to them, had been placed earlier.

However, the investigation team continues to suspect a deliberate crime, based on the collected evidence, testimonies and video footage. According to sources close to the investigation, in the first moments after his arrest, Ziçi allegedly stated that he did not regret his actions, but this is not an official statement given to the authorities.
