"He told me you would be left alone", Koçek breaks the silence:

Independent MP Marjana Koçeku has spoken for the first time since leaving the Socialist Party parliamentary group, revealing details from the conversation she had with Prime Minister Edi Rama after the decision was made.

In an interview with Euronews Albania, Koçeku said that she made the decision to leave the parliamentary group independently and chose not to communicate with the prime minister for three days, so that, according to her, it would not have any influence on the choice she had made.

" I communicated with Prime Minister Rama three days after I made the decision. This was a personal decision, so that there would be no room for influence on what I had decided to do and say. Only after three days did I respond to a series of phone calls and messages from him. These are private conversations and I prefer to remain correct ," she said.

Koçek said that during that conversation, Rama had warned him about the political consequences of leaving the Socialist Party.

" He warned me that I would be left alone and that no one would trust me after this act, not even my people in the mountains where I come from. I have confirmed and continue to confirm to all those who believe in the prime minister that I will not be left alone. I am used to being independent, it is part of my character and I will not back down. There is no turning back on this decision ," Koçeku declared.

The MP emphasized that the choice to continue her mandate as an independent is final and that she has no intention of changing her position.
