An operation by the Special Prosecution Office has targeted the State Cadastral Agency in Durrës, where 12 security measures have been executed against former Mortgage officials and other persons suspected of involvement in a scheme to alienate properties through forged documents.

The security measures have been ordered by the Durrës Court and include "prison arrest", "house arrest" and "obligation to report" to the judicial police. According to the investigations, the suspects are accused of criminal offenses such as fraud, forgery of documents, abuse of office and laundering of the proceeds of crime.

Persons against whom security measures have been imposed:

Ramazan Sheshi – Arrest in prison, suspected of fraud, forgery of documents and laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity.
Adrian Kona – Arrest in prison, suspected of fraud and abuse of office.
Bledar Zerba – Arrest in prison, suspected of fraud and abuse of office.
Rovin Zeqja – Arrest in prison, suspected of fraud and abuse of office.
Shaqir Sheshi – House arrest, suspected of fraud and forgery of documents.
Viktor Mataj – House arrest, suspected of fraud and forgery of documents.
Arianit Mataj – House arrest, suspected of fraud and forgery of documents.
Besnik Xhafa – House arrest, suspected of fraud and forgery of documents.
Fiqeret Xhafa – Mandatory appearance, suspected of fraud, forgery of documents and laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity.
Jonida Mergeja – Mandatory appearance, suspected of abuse of office.
Leandro Dervishi – Mandatory appearance, suspected of abuse of office.
Artur Çobani – Mandatory appearance, suspected of abuse of office.
SPAK has not yet made public further details on the suspected mechanism of property alienation, while investigations continue to clarify the role of each of the persons involved in this matter.
