Pensioner in protest: He gave 4 billion lek to a rapper, I have a pension of 112

A pensioner has drawn attention during the protest held today in Tirana, harshly criticizing the government's decision to allocate 4 million euros from the emergency fund for the organization of Kanye West's concert in the capital.

The elderly man called the use of public funds for such activities unacceptable, while, according to him, thousands of pensioners continue to face economic difficulties and live on minimal income. He also raised suspicions that corrupt interests are hidden behind this decision.

In his statement, the protester accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of ignoring the concerns of citizens and spending public money for purposes that do not serve Albanians.

"Edi Rama has started these famous tours in Europe and with the greatest arrogance and disregard gives 4 billion lek to a scoundrel there from the emergency fund, and I have a pension of 112 thousand lek. Edi Rama does not give lek to that scoundrel and does not put lek in his pocket, that is not discussed," the pensioner said during the protest.
