Berisha tells how Rama overturned the British plan: The project was supposed to

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has continued his accusations against the government for the way it manages the development of the Albanian coast, stating that previous governments had followed a more controlled approach to construction in tourist areas.

During a statement, Berisha said that a British company had drafted a study for the coastline, determining areas where construction should not be allowed due to natural and environmental values.

According to him, after this study, the development of coastal areas was left to local authorities, while for the Municipality of Himara he mentioned former mayor Vasil Bollano, describing him as a defender of the interests of the residents of the area.

Berisha claimed that Edi Rama's coming to power brought a change in policy for the coast, accusing the current government of replacing territorial protection with massive construction.

"The previous government showed a very special care for the coast and the development of tourism. For this purpose, in addition to building infrastructure along the entire coast, it hired a famous British company, which studied the coast along its entire length. Albanians would have a completely different coast today, if the project designed for the development of communities by communities had been implemented. Edi Rama, upon coming to power, overturned both the British study and switched to the integrated coastal development plan, to the coastal massacre plan," declared the DP leader.
