Coastline in Vlora without lifeguards, vacationers: Lack of safety

At the height of the tourist season, one of the most worrying problems on the Vlora coastline remains the lack of beach lifeguards.

On both public and private beaches, the observation towers are empty.

In many cases, they are used by vacationers simply as places to sit or find some shade, while the personnel who should guarantee safety at sea are absent.

The elderly, who frequent this public beach every day, demand that safety not only remain in warning signs, but be guaranteed with the presence of trained observers.

This situation has been repeated for years on the Vlora coastline, although legislation requires beach stations to be equipped with certified observers.
