Well-known actor Koço Qëndro passes away at the age of 99

Renowned actor Koço Qendro, one of the most important figures in Albanian theater, entertainment, and cinema, has passed away at the age of 99.

Born on May 15, 1927 in Senica, Delvina, he built his artistic career mainly in Korça, a city where he became one of the founders and most prominent representatives of professional theater and variety.

During his decades on stage, Koço Qendro was noted for his numerous interpretations, becoming a beloved name for the Albanian public.

One of the most memorable roles remains that of Harpagon in Moliere's comedy "The Miser", which he performed at different periods of his artistic life, even in old age, proving his continued dedication to theater.

In cinematography, he has left his mark on a number of well-known Albanian films, including "The Eighth in Bronze", "Confrontation", "Dawns of the Great Season" and "The Decision", which remain part of the golden fund of Albanian film.

In addition to performing, Koço Qendro has also made an important contribution to documenting the history of Korçë theater, preserving memories and evidence of the development of the stage and the figures who have built it over the years.
