Balliu meets arrested protesters: They were more motivated than ever not to stop

Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu met at the premises of Police Station number 3 in Tirana with protesters violently arrested by the police during the July 2 protest at parliament.

In a statement to the media, Balliu said that the protesters were motivated not to stop in their mission, while declaring that the criminal acts of the police will receive the deserved response.

Statement by MP Klevis Balliu:

Today I had the opportunity to meet citizens who were unjustly arrested.

They were more motivated than ever and very grateful to all Albanians, especially their friends, who stood by them in front of the detention rooms until late at night.

While the criminal acts of the government's police will receive the response they deserve, the Democratic Party will call the Police Director to account.

It is shameful to accuse these citizens of violence, when they, even when there were 200,000 protesters, did not commit any acts of violence.

It is a shame that these heroes are in prison today, while Parliament and state institutions have been usurped by the thieves of the drug empire.

But these resisters were clear that they would not stop.

Shame will cover all those who remain silent in the face of this injustice.
