Suspect in Velipoja massacre escapes, police searching for Hasan Ferracak

Hasan Ferracaku, one of the people suspected of involvement in the massacre that occurred in Velipojë in 2021, where four people were killed and two others were injured, has left his apartment in Shkodra, where he was under the security measure of "house arrest".

According to information, Ferracak was under 24-hour police surveillance in the "Guerrile" neighborhood, after this security measure was imposed on him by the court for the criminal offense of "Intentional Murder". However, he managed to leave the apartment in the early hours of the morning, escaping the control of the officers.

Immediately after his absence was discovered, Shkodra Police services organized checks in the area and in various premises where he is suspected of hiding, while the Police Supervision Agency was also involved in the investigation. The search for his location and capture continues.

Police Notification

At around 05:30 this morning, in the "Guerrile" neighborhood, the Police services of the Shkodra Public Security Unit, while carrying out the service to guard citizen Hasan Ferracaku, against whom the Court had imposed the security measure "House Arrest", under police supervision, as he is under investigation for the criminal offense of "Intentional Murder", have determined that this citizen had left the apartment.

Immediately after the discovery, the Police services, in cooperation with the Shkodra Public Security Unit, organized searches in apartments and other premises where it is suspected that this citizen may be hiding.

The investigation team and the AMP continue to work on fully documenting the case. In the meantime, checks to find him continue.

The incident for which Ferracak is accused occurred on June 26, 2021 in Velipojë, where a conflict between two families over the use of a beach area for sun loungers escalated into the use of firearms. As a result of the clash, four people were killed, including members of both families, while two others were injured.

According to the investigation file, several firearms were used in the conflict, while the parties have given different versions of how the clash began. Investigations to fully unravel the incident are still ongoing.
