The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has used a book promotion event to return strong political accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama, describing his government as the cause of a "demographic desolation" in the country.

During the presentation of the work "The Tyranny of Smiles" by author Ndriçim Kulla, Berisha focused on the topics addressed in the book, which analyzes the political and psychological figure of the head of government.

He praised the author for his early stances on the connection between the state and crime, also mentioning the work "Narcodictatura".

"Today, we gather to promote a true literary, artistic, and political masterpiece of today's Albanian reality as part of a trilogy, in which Ndriçim Kulla, one of the nation's most prominent intellectuals, devotes the most serious research to the current political system, but also leaves a legacy of extraordinary importance for generations to come. Ndriçim Kulla is an intellectual, a writer, and a researcher of extraordinary dedication to the issues of the Albanian citizen and the country.

"Edi Rama has caused the country a demographic devastation before our eyes, in front of us. And he has done it with his deliberate policies. He has done it and there is no greater harm that you can do to this nation. Albanians, with the most successful demographic policies, would need half a century to achieve the demographics that they have had," said Berisha.
