'Albanian Files'/ Këlliçi demands an investigative commission for foreign architects' projects: How were the contracts awarded?

'Albanian Files'/ Këlliçi demands an investigative

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has requested the establishment of a parliamentary investigative committee in the Assembly to examine how, according to him, foreign architects have benefited from the largest public projects in Albania.

During his speech at the plenary session, Këlliçi accused the majority of avoiding debate on issues that, according to him, have also raised concerns in European institutions. He said that the Assembly cannot ignore developments being discussed abroad, referring also to the positions of the European Parliament regarding a law approved by the majority.

The Democrat MP also mentioned the book "Albanian Files", which he said documents the way urban projects have been developed in Albania over the last 13 years. According to Këlliç, the book is not an opposition publication, but is based on testimonies of people who have been involved in the country's most important projects.

"This parliament should not act as if nothing is happening outside these walls. You refused the debate. They were heard in the EP, while you refuse to discuss them. The EP expressly requested the repeal of the adopted law. While you remain silent, you do not provide any explanation that paved the way for the theft of Albanian property. Albanian files shows how in 13 years international architects made projects, regardless of where this money came from.

This is not a book of the opposition, a political pamphlet, but the book of Edi Rama and his people, people who have been at the heart of the great projects of this country. In this 750-page book, not a single Albanian architect appears, but foreign ones. The problem is not that the prime minister talks to architects, but that the projects arise from his personal relationships and not from the law. Let's establish an Investigative Commission to investigate how foreign architects have benefited from projects in our country. "Këlliçi said.
