DP: We condemn the animalistic violence ordered by Rama and Balla against

The Democratic Party has reacted after today's clashes in front of the Parliament, between police and protesters.

In an official statement, the DP accuses Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, of having ordered violent interventions against citizens gathered in protest.

According to the DP, various police tools were used during the clashes, including tear gas and other dispersal tools, while it is alleged that dozens of protesters were forcibly escorted to police stations.

The DP demands the immediate release of those detained, describing protest as a constitutional right and calling on citizens to show solidarity and support for the protest movement.

Democratic Party statement:

The Democratic Party followed today with the greatest concern the scenes of animalistic violence ordered by Edi Rama and Taulant Balla against peaceful protesters who had surrounded the parliament.

On the orders of Edi Rama, today the narcotics police used toxic substances, expired tear gas, used bear spray, pyrotechnics, water cannons, dragged, and bled peaceful protesters with unrestrained cruelty.

The Democratic Party declares that with these acts, Edi Rama and his criminal organization reveal their true morals and criminal face to Albanians.

They proved that they are capable and willing to undertake any crime and any act to protect their chair.

Dozens and dozens of protesters were forcibly and violently taken to be transferred to police station cells.

Once again, we demand the immediate release of all detained, peaceful protesters who were protesting in accordance with their constitutional rights and the European Convention on Human Rights.

We condemn with the greatest force the savage violence inflicted upon them and call on Albanian citizens to unite, to show solidarity, to support with all their potential the unstoppable success of the most powerful civic youth movement the country has known since the 1990s.
