As the anti-government protest has entered its 34th day and calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama continue on the streets and on social media, behind the scenes, an attempt by state structures to influence the online narrative is being denounced.

In an internal message, distributed by Arbian Mazniku, increased engagement of employees on social media is requested to counter criticism of the government and support its public activity.

In the message, the structures of each municipality are asked to involve specific people to open several accounts on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, which will be used for reactions and comments in online debates.

"Can we please ask for 1 person per Municipality, separate from those we received, to tell you to open 2 Instagram accounts, 2 TikTok accounts and 2 Facebook fan pages, open them with fictitious names and surnames, not real names, separate from those we received, to be a special group only for likes, comments and shares, but also for comments, to fight against the comments ," Mazniku wrote in the message that was distributed to the administration.
