Policeman Enea Mekolli killed, Braçellari released from Trauma hospital

Violand Braçellari, who executed police officer Enea Mekolli in Lozhan i Maliqi, has left the Military Hospital, completely out of danger of losing his life and has been hospitalized for several days in the prison hospital, near the QSUT in Tirana.

His health condition has now been released from danger, meaning he is now receiving treatment at the prison hospital. It is expected that after treatment at this hospital, he will be isolated in the high-security prison of Drenova or Peqin.

Violand Braçellari, the 43-year-old from Loazhani who killed Korça police officer Enea Mekolli with an automatic rifle and injured his colleague Edison Adri, is said to have used armor-piercing automatic bullets.

The person wanted by the police used heavy weapons and ammunition, and quickly neutralized the two police officers, one of whom, Enea Mekolli, suffered 5 wounds, three to the body, one to the head and one to the leg.

The three blows to the body caused the bulletproof vest to crack. During the seizure of the automatic weapon, it was determined that the ammunition used by Violand Braçellari belonged to the bodyguards.

Violand Braçellari was known in the area as a high-risk person, having escaped arrest by the police several times. Wherever he went to his stable, he carried a firearm with him, bringing an immediate reaction.

Currently, the Korça prosecution has launched investigations against Violand Braçellari on charges of "Murder due to special qualities" against a police officer and "Murder due to special qualities against a police officer" remaining in the attempted stage, as well as "Unlicensed possession of firearms and ammunition", Armed resistance against State Police officers.

For all these charges, Braçellari risks a life sentence.

Meanwhile, it is expected that an investigation for "Abuse of Duty" has been opened in connection with this matter, to conduct verifications on the leadership and implementation role of the Korça police officers in this action.

Several police officers, including the Director of Korça, Vilson Bala, and the Deputy Director of Korça Police, Eduart Allushi, will be questioned about this matter, whether they had operational information that Braçellari was a dangerous person.

Violand Braçellari declared in the village of Lozhan that if the police came to him, they would shoot him, which shows that he posed a high risk./Elton Qyno, Syri.net
