African heat returns from Thursday, temperatures up to 40°C at the weekend

Meteorologist Lajda Porja has announced that Albania is expected to experience a period of temperatures typical for the month of July in the coming days, with a gradual increase in heat until the weekend.

According to its forecast, on Monday maximum temperatures will reach around 33°C, while on Tuesday and Wednesday a slight increase of up to 34°C is expected. During this period, heavy rain is expected in mountainous areas such as Bajram Curri, Puka, Bulqiza, Peshkopia, Librazhdi, Elbasan and the Korça region.

From Thursday, according to the meteorologist, the country will again be affected by African hot masses, bringing a heat wave that is expected to last about 5 to 6 days.

Over the weekend, temperatures are expected to rise significantly, reaching up to 39–40°C, while from July 9 onwards, the highest values ​​of this month are expected to be recorded in Albania.
