Arrested protesters released, welcomed with hugs and ovations outside police

The release of protesters detained after clashes with police during Thursday's protest has begun. Following the decision of the Tirana Court, they have begun to leave the Security Block on "Mine Peza" Street.

They were greeted outside the police station door with cheers, while family and friends hugged and kissed them on the forehead.

A little earlier, the court imposed security measures for the 19 protesters arrested after the July 2 rally.

Everest Bardhi and Ervin Gega were placed under "house arrest", while the Prosecution had initially requested "prison arrest", arguing that they had used violence and damaged a police vehicle.

Meanwhile, Altin Hila, who became one of the symbolic figures of the protest after participating with his sick child, was released. The prosecution initially requested prison for him, but later changed the request to house arrest.

In total, 12 protesters were released under "compulsory appearance" orders, while five others were released without any security measures.

The court hearing lasted over five hours and was temporarily suspended after protester Niko Qarkaj, who suffers from epilepsy, developed health problems.
