"There are no reagents", 36 thousand residents of Vora cannot have blood tests at the Health Center

"There are no reagents", 36 thousand residents of Vora cannot have

Fiks Fare denounced on Monday evening a problem at the Vora Health Center, which lacks reagents to perform blood tests.

The 36 thousand inhabitants of the town are forced to travel to the 9-story Central Polyclinic in Tirana. The Director and the Head of the Laboratory justify that they made a request at the end of December 2025 and there is still no response!

Agim Hysa, 71 years old, from the city of Vora complained to the editorial office of the show Fiks Fare, who says that the city's Health Center, the only one in that area, cannot do blood tests. He suffers from hypertension, diabetes, has high cholesterol and has to do blood tests time and time again. But, since the end of last year, in the months of November and December 2025, he has not been able to do the tests because they tell him that there are no reagents. He adds that the city of Vora has 36 thousand inhabitants and everyone has to travel in the middle of the heat to 9-story buildings in Tirana.

"They tell us we have made requests, but nothing has happened so far. We have two options, either we do it with private doctors and we suspect that these doctors may have connections, or we go to Tirana. I am 71 years old with a pension of 19 thousand lek per month, what should I do first, eat bread or get tests done," Agimi concludes.

After the complaint, the citizen goes to the laboratory doctor, who tells him that there are still no kits or reagents. The doctor tells him that they have made a request since the end of December 2025, but there is no information. She tells him that she has done her job, but there are procedures. The elderly man also asks the Director of the Vora Health Center, Shkëndije Kuçi, who is also his family doctor.

He asks her for information about the tests, while she tells him that she did a "Check Up". Agimi tells him that on the day they told him to do a "Check Up", he was hungry, but the doctor insisted that we do it so that we can calculate it. "Yes, you were hungry, we have calculated those high parameters. We have calculated them" she tells him. Then, the old man asks her for information about why blood tests are not being done in the ambulance laboratory. The director tells him that she has made a request, but the procedures are still being done.

Fiksi goes to ask the director Shkëndije Kuçi about this problem. The director tells the Fiks Fare group that they need to make a written request. After insisting, she says that the procedure is ongoing with the winning operator. Fiksi asks if this tender procedure was carried out by the Health Center or some other institution, as he says that the Health Center has been taking a long time and the contract will be signed very soon.

Shkëndija refuses to give detailed explanations, while Fiksi insists that there are 36 thousand residents of Vora who cannot be tested. He then replies that "we only have 20 thousand." Fiksi asks him when the tests will be done, while he again does not give a date.

She says that some patients have been covered with "Check UP", meanwhile Fiksi asks her if these patients take the tests sober or fed. She says that they usually do the tests sober, but in some cases they also recommend that they eat, since they know these patients and do the calculations for them if the tests come out with some higher parameters!/ TCH
