The Durrës Court has left in force the security measures previously imposed against persons involved in the investigation into the alienation of properties in the coastal area of ​​Durrës.

The judge of the session decided to continue the security measure "House Arrest" for Shaqir Sheshi, Arianit Mataj and Besnik Xhafa, who are suspected of the criminal offenses of "Fraud" and "Forgery of Documents".

The court also upheld the measure "Obligation to report to the judicial police" against Fiqeret Xhafa, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Fraud", "Forgery of documents" and "Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".

With the same security measure, Jonida Mergeja, Leandro Dervishi and Artur Çobani, all three staff members of the Durrës Cadastre, suspected of the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", committed in collaboration, will continue to be investigated.

The investigation into this matter began in 2022. As part of the criminal proceedings, the Durrës Prosecutor's Office has imposed preventive seizure on 13 land plots, suspected of being involved in the illegal alienation scheme. 
Meanwhile, the security measures "Arrest in prison", imposed in absentia for four people, have not yet been executed. Three of them are former Cadastre officials, while the fourth is a suspected beneficiary of the property alienation scheme.

Also, a "house arrest" measure imposed on another person suspected of being a beneficiary in this case remains unexecuted.
