Pollo: Rama is selling the easier chapters of the negotiations with the EU as a

Former Minister Genc Pollo has described the closure of three chapters of Albania's negotiations with the EU as positive, while accusing Edi Rama of politically exploiting this achievement.

According to Pollo, presenting this step as a success serves as a "smokescreen" to divert attention from the serious problems related to state capture and democratic regression in the country.

According to Pollo, the three closed chapters are among the least challenging of the negotiation process.

He emphasizes that two of them are related to foreign policy and security, areas where Albania, according to him, has not had problems in relation to the European Union over the last three decades, while the chapter on education and science includes policies that are mainly the competence of member states and not of the EU itself.

Pollo's post:

Albania provisionally closed 3 chapters with the EU, which is positive.

But the celebrations and the use of self-adornment by the Rama government are a smokescreen for the serious problems of state capture and democratic regression; the latter are denounced daily by protesters.

Moreover: the temporarily closed chapters concern foreign policy and security (never in 30 years have they been a problem) and education and science (mainly issues of member states and less of the EU).

So, the easiest chapters. Lots of symbolism, very little substance.
