Will an investigation be launched against Rama for "Albanian Files"? Braho avoids comments

Will an investigation be launched against Rama for "Albanian Files"?

MP Gjin Gjoni raised the issue of a possible investigation against Prime Minister Edi Rama, during the reporting of the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, to the Parliamentary Committee on "Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight".

Gjoni asked the head of the Special Prosecution Office whether any investigation has been conducted against Rama or whether he has been summoned as a person in the know about issues such as the "Albanian Files", the incinerators and allegations of links to organized crime.

The Democrat MP raised questions about the fact that the Prime Minister has not been summoned for questioning, linking this to the corruption situation in the country.

"Albania is ranked 91st for corruption. Does the prime minister's failure to call, even as a knowledgeable person, about incinerators, Albanian Files and organized crime call into question your impartiality?" Gjoni asked.

He also asked whether SPAK has verified the people behind several major projects in Tirana and their possible connections to senior officials.

"How were the costs of projects paid for that have not yet been approved by the Albanian state, even though a file of over 500 pages has been prepared?" he continued.

In response, the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, said that he would not comment on specific cases, but emphasized that any person can be subject to investigation if there is evidence and an investigative need.

"I have no comment. If anyone has evidence, they are invited to submit it and receive legal responses according to the law. No person is immune from SPAK," Braho declared.

According to him, the criterion for launching an investigation is the existence of evidence and the need for investigative actions, regardless of the position of the person who may be under verification.
