45-year-old man arrested after several hours of pursuit for violating house

Durrës police have arrested 45-year-old Gentian Gjyzeli, suspected of violent robbery at a pharmacy.

According to the police, the incident occurred last evening in neighborhood no. 12, where the 45-year-old is suspected of having forcibly taken a sum of money from the pharmacy where a female citizen worked.

The arrested person had a significant criminal record for theft and was under the security measure "House Arrest" for another criminal offense of the same nature.

"As a result of the immediate administration of a citizen's report that last night, in the pharmacy where she worked, in neighborhood no. 12, a citizen had forcibly stolen a sum of money, the services of the Durrës Police Commissariat finalized the coded operation "Reaction", during which the suspected perpetrator, citizen G. Gj., 45 years old, resident of Durrës, was caught a few hours after the crime was committed, and was put in handcuffs. 
The 45-year-old, with a significant criminal record in the field of theft, turned out to have violated the security measure "House arrest", imposed by the Court, for the same crime.

"Investigations are continuing to uncover other thefts that citizen G. Gj may have committed," the police announced.

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offenses of "Theft by force" and "Removal of a prisoner from his place of residence".
