"Skifters" descend on the coast, attempt to rob elderly man in Borsh,

Himara Police have finalized today (July 15) the operation codenamed "Shuma", arresting three people suspected of the attempted robbery of a 70-year-old man in the village of Borsh.

According to the Police, the incident occurred on July 12, 2026, when the three perpetrators allegedly entered the elderly man's apartment, held him by force, and threatened him with a firearm imitation, specifically a lighter pistol, with the aim of stealing a sum of money.

Following the report made by the 70-year-old, specialists from the Crime Investigation Section at the Himara Police Station conducted intensive investigative actions, enabling the identification, localization and arrest of the three suspects.

Vlora Police Announcement:

"They entered the apartment of an elderly man, held him by force and threatened him with a firearm imitation (a lighter pistol), with the aim of stealing a sum of money. The 3 suspected perpetrators were identified, captured and arrested."

 
One of the arrested was under house arrest for drug crimes.

The perpetrators had kept the 70-year-old's apartment under surveillance for 2 days and had rented a vehicle to commit the crime.

The "Mercedes-Benz" vehicle is seized.

As a result of intensive investigative and operational actions, carried out immediately after a 70-year-old man reported that on 12.07.2026, in the village of Borsh, 3 citizens had entered his apartment, held him by force and threatened him with an imitation firearm, with the aim of stealing a sum of money, specialists from the Crime Investigation Section of the Himara Police Commissariat finalized the police operation codenamed "Shuma".

As part of the operation, the following citizens were identified, located and arrested:

Xh., 25 years old, resident of Selenica;
T., 23 years old, resident of Vlora;
C., 19 years old, resident of Vlora.
The verifications showed that citizen AC had violated the security measure "House arrest", imposed by the Court for crimes in the field of narcotics.

The investigation revealed that the 3 citizens had kept the 70-year-old's apartment under surveillance for 2 days and had rented a vehicle to go to the scene and commit the crime.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action."
