Berisha: Candidates were notified in advance, names were not made public to

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has explained how the candidacies for the party's leadership positions were presented during the National Council meeting.

Asked by journalists about comparisons between the way names are announced in the DP and the practice followed by Prime Minister Edi Rama in introducing ministers, Berisha denied such a similarity.

According to him, the candidates were informed in advance about the proposals, but the names were not made public earlier in order to limit the lobbying process as much as possible.

"No, they found out about it earlier. There is a moment, I will tell you openly. For the reduction, there is no other reason, but for the reduction to the maximum possible level of lobbying, which can never be ruled out, but a reservation is kept, because for me I could have given it to you in the morning. But the problem of lobbying is not that it is not a worrying problem ," said Berisha.
