High temperatures, doctors appeal to citizens: Avoid going out during rush hours

The high temperatures that have engulfed our country pose an increased risk, especially for the elderly, children and people with chronic diseases.

For this reason, expert doctors from the Institute of Public Health appeal to citizens to avoid rush hours, consume as much water as possible, and avoid alcoholic beverages, coffee, and carbonated drinks.

"During the summer, high temperatures, in addition to being a concern for us, also affect our health. Some groups in the population are more sensitive than others to these temperatures, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, the chronically ill, or people who work outdoors."

We advise limiting your time outside during peak hours 11:00-18:00, staying in cool places, keeping your body cool, wearing light clothing and light colors. When you go out, carry a hat, sunglasses and water. Drinking water is important to avoid dehydration.

Avoid coffee, alcoholic and carbonated drinks. Eat as lightly as possible and consume as much fruit as possible. With a little care and some protective measures, we can protect our health, says the doctor.
