In 2025, agriculture will make a negative contribution to economic growth, by 0.3 percentage points, according to INSTAT data. More detailed information from INSTAT shows that greenhouse activity has been declining, as have wheat, fruit trees, and olives. The activities with the strongest growth were in green vegetables and medicinal plants.

In 2025, agricultural production in the country reached 9,731,031 tons.

-Cereals reached 623,957 tons, with the highest production level in Fier County with 144,404 tons, followed by Elbasan and Korça.
-Vegetables recorded a production of 1,445,286 tons, with an increase of 1.5%, compared to the previous year. Fier, Tirana and Berat are the counties with the highest production with around 62%.
-Wheat production decreased by 10.1%, while barley increased by 13.6%, reaching 27,027 tons.
-Medicinal plants increased by 9.6%, respectively, while potato production decreased by 7.2%.

Greenhouse production

-Greenhouse production represents 22.1% of total vegetables, but with a decrease from the previous year of 0.9%.
Fier region (with 155,905 tons), contributes with 48.7% and Berat (with 97,648 tons) with 30.5% of this production. Dibër and Lezha regions present an increasing trend compared to the previous year, with 16.3% and 5.1% respectively.

Vegetable structure

-Fresh vegetables account for 65.8% of total production, marking an increase of 1.07%, compared to the previous year.
-Dried vegetables have decreased, compared to 2024, by 6.7% of the production of this category.
The melon category, for 2025, reached a production of 366,675 tons, marking an increase of 5.7%, compared to 2024.

fruit trees

-The production of fruit trees was 253,450 in 2025, a decrease of 12.8%. The highest level of production is observed in Korça County as the main contributor (66,178 tons), followed by Elbasan and Fier.
-In the group of seed trees, apples occupy the main share with 81.8% of production, while in the group of stone trees, plums dominate with 41.0% of production.
-The production of olives during 2025 reached 143,383 tons with a decrease of 2.3%, compared to 2024. The counties of Fier, Elbasan, Berat and Vlora represent 83.2% of the total olive production in the country, remaining the main olive cultivation areas in Albania.
-The total production of citrus fruits in the country is 59,417 tons, with the Vlora Region the main contributor with 60.9% of the total production in the country./MONITOR
