By Baton Haxhiu and Edi Rama / The full list of witnesses in the trial against Ilir Meta is revealed

Freedom Party MP Ilir Meta has submitted to the court a long list of names he wants to be called as witnesses in the trial against him and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi.

The list proposed by Meta includes well-known figures from politics, business, and the media, including former Speaker of Parliament Gramoz Ruçi, Prime Minister Edi Rama, Taulant Balla, businessman Samir Mane, Mayor of Himara Vangjel Tavo, and analyst Baton Haxhiu.

Meanwhile, SPAK has also filed a list of witnesses it requests to appear in court as part of the trial against Meta and Kryemadhi.

The Special Prosecution's list includes former ministers, former MPs, businessmen, diplomats and close associates of the Meta-Kryemadhi couple.

Among the names sought by SPAK are Jozef Hejsek, Ervis Mataj, Pirro Xhixho, Kastriot Ismailaj, Milena Harito, Përparim Spahiu, Agron Çela, Luan Rama, Endrit Brahimllari, Samir Mane, Petrit Vasili, Spartak Braho, Ilir Kulla, Vangjel Tavo, Baton Haxhiu, Damian Gjiknuri and Ralf Gjoni.

The long list of witnesses shows the complexity of the file being reviewed by the Special Court, which is related to the charges brought by SPAK against former President Ilir Meta and former MP Monika Kryemadhi.

The upcoming hearings are expected to determine which of the witnesses will be accepted by the court to appear and give their testimony in the trial.
