Drug gang in Mykonos destroyed, led by an Albanian

Greek police have cracked down on a criminal group that was involved in drug trafficking on the island of Mykonos, while the organization was headed by a 37-year-old Albanian, who used a tourist transport company with vans to camouflage himself.

According to the Greek Police announcement, the company's vehicles served not only for the movement of group members, but also for the distribution of drugs, mainly in the town of Mykonos and in areas with a high influx of tourists.

According to Greek media, five members of the organization were arrested during the operation, while investigations show that the criminal activity began in mid-April. Illegal profits from drug sales are estimated at around 700,000 euros.

The checks were carried out in apartments and premises used by the criminal group in Mykonos, Piraeus and Perama, where police seized around 4.5 kilograms of cocaine, pink cocaine, cannabis, tablets with pharmaceutical substances, ketamine and hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Role of members

According to Greek authorities, the 37-year-old Albanian directed and coordinated all the organization's activities. He was responsible for securing suppliers, managing drug hideouts, transporting, storing and distributing narcotics, as well as administering part of the illicit proceeds.

A 38-year-old is considered his deputy and had a role in storing, distributing drugs and managing profits, while a 39-year-old was in charge of storing narcotics, finding customers and keeping money from sales.

The other two members, a 25-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, had roles in storing, distributing drugs, and supervising places where narcotics were hidden.
