"The Albanian elite aligns itself with the youth protest", DP: Call

The Democratic Party has stated that the youth protest in the country is also receiving widespread support from the Albanian elite in the diaspora, describing this as a strong signal for the need for political change in Albania.

In an official reaction, the DP appreciates and supports the letter signed by 260 Albanian personalities around the world, including scientists, academics, professors and experts from various fields, who, according to it, have joined the demands of the youth protest taking place in the country.

In the statement, the Democratic Party accuses the current government of concentrating power, suppressing pluralism, manipulating elections, and increasing corruption, describing the situation as a result of "an authoritarian system" led by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to the DP, the support of the diaspora and the international academic elite gives the protest a broader dimension and strengthens the call for political change in Albania.

The Democratic Party of Albania, which has fully supported and supports the youth civic protest and its demands, highly appreciates and fully supports the letter of 260 prominent Albanian personalities in the world to scientists, academics, professors, well-known experts in various fields, the full support they give to the demands of the most powerful youth civic movement in the history of the country.
This letter, with which the elite of the nation outside Albania joins its voice with the voice of Albanian youth and citizens, is at the same time a call for every Albanian, wherever he lives, to support without reservations the demands of the youth civic movement in Albania, as the only way to solve the deep political, moral, institutional crisis that has gripped the country, caused by the authoritarian dictatorship of Edi Rama based on the concentration of all powers in one hand, the suppression of political pluralism, the electoral farce, crime, drugs and the plunder of Albanians.
