Brazil complains to FIFA after victory over Scotland: Don't appoint this

Despite a clean 3-0 triumph over Scotland in the World Cup, Brazil was not satisfied with the refereeing of the match and decided to officially react to FIFA.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has filed an appeal, challenging the annulment of Vinicius Junior's second goal and demanding that Mexican referee Cesar Ramos be removed from Brazil national team matches.

The debate began in the 21st minute, when Vinicius scored his second goal after a challenge on defender Jack Hendry. Although the goal was initially allowed, VAR called the referee for a review, who then overturned it for an alleged foul early in the game.

According to Brazilian officials, the VAR intervention was unjustified, as there was no "clear and evident error" to justify changing the decision on the field.

CBF President Samir Xaud has sent a letter to FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressing concern over the lack of consistency in refereeing during the tournament and requesting that Cesar Ramos no longer referee Brazil matches.

In the document, the Brazilian federation also recalls previous precedents with the same referee, mentioning the match against Switzerland in the 2018 World Cup, where, according to it, Brazil was harmed by questionable decisions.

The CBF also argues that the goal was so sudden that even the Scottish players themselves did not expect the VAR intervention, which according to them makes the decision even more debatable.
