The United States of America is considering the possibility of running again as the World Cup organizer, this time for the 2038 edition, further strengthening their role on the world football map.

Although soccer remains the third most watched sport in the US, after American football and basketball, sports and political authorities are seriously considering another bid for the world's biggest tournament.

The United States has a long history with the competition. It first hosted the World Cup in 1994 and will co-host the 2026 edition with Mexico and Canada. The vast majority of matches in that tournament – ​​78 of the 104 – will be played on American soil, including the final.

Meanwhile, FIFA has already confirmed the organizers of the next two editions: in 2030 the tournament will be held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with some opening matches in South America, while in 2034 the organization has been entrusted to Saudi Arabia.

According to the executive director of the White House World Cup task force, Andrew Giuliani, the idea of ​​a US bid for 2038 is still in the discussion stage, but is considered serious.
