The leader of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, is on a visit to Washington where he met with other American senators in the Senate.
On social media, he writes that he met with Senator John Cornyn and Kevin Cramer.
According to Mediu, they discussed with the senators the situation in Albania, the impossibility of free and fair elections, the influence of organized crime and corruption in Albania, the massive exodus of Albanians, etc.
"Together with Senator John Cornyn, we are members of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
The Assembly will have its own group of observers for the May 11 elections in Tirana to closely follow any election problems in cooperation with the ODIHR observation mission.
With Senator Cony, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, the Judiciary Committee and the Special Intelligence Committee, we discussed the situation in Albania, the impossibility of free and fair elections, the influence of organized crime and corruption in Albania, the massive departure of Albanians, due to the lack of hope and legal uncertainty and the lack of functioning of laws, the control of life and every institution by the government, violating the constitution and the freedoms and rights of Albanian citizens.
We also discussed security issues in the Balkan region.
