British woman lost her life in Saranda, father: The case is being dragged into

Rebecca Gannon's father, George Gannon, has spoken out about the tragic event that took the life of his daughter in Saranda. He expressed his concern on the show "Në Shënjestër" on News 24 that the case is dragging on in the prosecutor's office and that justice for his daughter has not yet been served. Gannon has requested that the person responsible for the tragedy be extradited from Norway and serve the sentence for the event that took place in Albania.

In a telephone conversation, George Gannon stressed that a person sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking in Norway is involved in this case and that he has been seeking justice for two years, but has not received any concrete information. He also claimed that the companies that provided the tourist service had not respected safety rules, adding that the equipment Rebecca used, including the cylinder and life jacket, were broken and unsuitable for use.

“I am not leaving Albania without getting justice for my daughter,” he said, expressing pain and anger over Rebecca's sudden loss.

Rebecca Gannon's father : The court hearing has been postponed. The person responsible for the loss of our daughter's life has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking in Norway. I want him to be extradited from Norway and serve his sentence in Albania. I have been dragging myself around the prosecutor's offices for two years. I have not received any explanation. They sent us a 30-page document. The prosecutors want the case to drag on until oblivion. I will not leave Albania without getting justice for my daughter. She hugged me in England, said we would see each other and we never saw each other again. The company did not have basic safety rules. The tank that Rebecca used was old. It was used because there were many divers that day, since the day before the sea was rough and there were many tourists that day. Even the life jacket did not work when she pulled the emergency rope.
